How to care for your new board.

DO NOT
First let’s start with the Do Not’s
• Do Not put the board in the dishwasher or submerge in water. High heat and water are a great way to warp and crack the board.
• Do Not use bleach. This will stain and/or excessively dry the wood out.

CARE
Now how to properly care for your board
• Remove food particles. Rinse your board with warm water to remove any stuck debris.
• Apply a mild dish soap. Gently clean the board with warm soapy water and a brush or sponge. Avoid using abrasive scouring pads.
• Dry your board. Dry your board with a towel then place the board upright to finish air drying.
• Storing your board. Store the board upright in a dry place to allow for air circulation.

MAINTENANCE
In order to ensure that your board stays ready for use for as long as possible routine maintenance beyond washing is required. When your board stops beading water or it appears dried out, it is time for that maintenance.
• Make sure your board is clean and completely dry before oiling.
• Apply a generous portion of food grade mineral oil to the surface.
• With a dry rag rub the oil on the surface in a circular motion.
• Wipe off excess oil.
• Repeat the process on the other side of the board.
• Air dry your board in a vertical position until is no longer damp to the touch.
